Share the journey.

Can’t decide between the Berlin HEMA Cup and the Paris HEMA Open? Do both, with a group to share the whole experience.

Between the tournaments, we’ll train together, explore both cities and get closer to the history behind the weapons we fence with. There’s time to build friendships across clubs and countries along the way.

Fence together.

Two international tournaments, shared workshops, and open halls for free fencing and sparring.

Discover together.

A Berlin city tour, Paris from the water, and visits to historical arms collections.

Connect across borders.

Meet people from different HEMA communities. All countries, experience levels and genders are welcome.

Who can join?

Fencers from all countries, of all experience levels and genders, are welcome to express their interest. You do not need to be based in Berlin or Paris. Conditions for any financial support will be shared once funding is confirmed.

How much will it cost?

The participation fee is not confirmed yet. We are applying for funding, and the outcome will affect the final price and any financial support available. Email us to hear more when these details are ready.

Does my email reserve a place?

Your email is an expression of interest, with no commitment to book or pay. It does not reserve a place. We will explain the formal registration process once the price and arrangements are confirmed.

How will places be allocated?

A maximum of 30 places is planned. Once formal registration opens, places will be allocated in the order registrations are received. Expressing interest now is separate from that registration.

How does tournament registration work?

Registration for the exchange and registration for the two tournaments are separate. Exchange participants will have access to a priority registration option for both tournaments. The exact process depends on the funding arrangements and will be explained before tournament registration opens.

What about travel, meals and local transport?

We coordinate accommodation in both cities, the shared journey from Berlin to Paris, and the group programme. You arrange your arrival in Berlin, your journey home from Paris, meals, and any local transport tickets you need. We can still eat together, and food will be available at the Berlin HEMA Cup cafeteria.
