OUR VISON
International Tournament
Our goal is to establish the Berlin HEMA Cup as a renowned international event that attracts participants from around the world. We aim to create a platform where fencers of all disciplines can showcase their skills and compete on an international stage. To ensure fairness and professionalism, we place strong emphasis on high-quality judging and strive to provide above-average compensation for our referees.
Multiple Tournaments in One Weekend
We offer the unique opportunity to participate in several tournaments over one weekend. With multiple disciplines, including Longsword, Saber, and Rapier & Dagger, each featuring Open and Women’s categories, this event is designed to maximize the competitive and learning experience for all participants.
Team Effort
The Berlin HEMA Cup is built on the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Everyone who wants to contribute is welcome to lend a hand, even in small ways. In return for their support, helpers receive discounted entry fees, meals during the event, and the chance to gain valuable experience while being part of an incredible community effort. Together, we create an event that’s not just about competition but about coming together to make something truly special.

Nonprofit Spirit
The Berlin HEMA Cup is a nonprofit event, organized by volunteers for the HEMA community. All revenue goes directly into running and improving the event, with none of it going into the organizers’ pockets. Instead, we invest in better facilities, fair compensation for referees, and an outstanding experience for everyone involved. Our goal is to keep participation affordable, create equal opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the international HEMA community.
Community
The Berlin HEMA Cup is more than just about winning. While competition is important, this event is also about friendship, camaraderie, and building a stronger community. It’s a chance to form new connections, strengthen old ones, and look forward to meeting friends again year after year. We believe the spirit of HEMA thrives not only in the ring but also in the bonds we create along the way.

See Europe, fight it!
Can’t decide whether to go to the Berlin HEMA Cup or the Paris HEMA Open? Then just do both!
At the Berlin–Paris HEMA Exchange 2027, we’ll spend ten days together in Berlin and Paris: two HEMA tournaments, shared training sessions and workshops, the chance to handle historical swords, guided city tours, and plenty of opportunities to meet people from different countries and HEMA communities.
And we’ll take care of a large part of the organisation: accommodation in Berlin and Paris, the shared journey from Berlin to Paris, and the programme during the week will all be organised for the group.
