Registration System for the Berlin HEMA Cup

To ensure a fair distribution of spots between the “Open” and “Women+” categories, we have implemented a special registration system.

For each weapon category (Longsword, Rapier & Dagger, Sabre), there will be an equal number of spots available in both the “Open” and “Women+” tournaments. This ensures that Women+ fencers have the same opportunity to register for their category and prevents any category from being planned as smaller from the outset.

After an initial two-week registration phase, unused spots from one category (e.g., Women+ if there are unclaimed spots) will be redistributed to the other category of the same weapon (e.g., Open) if there is a waiting list. This way, we ensure that all available spots are filled while maintaining fairness between categories.

This system allows us to offer an inclusive and flexible registration process that accommodates the needs of all participants.
